Jon Bishop

I majored in Graphic Design at West Liberty University. After interning in London, UK at Mot Juste and in Cleveland, OH at Philips Healthcare, I went on to design at Legrand’s new media department for two years.

I moved to North Canton, OH in 2012 to work at a bootstrapped tech startup called Squirrels. I was attracted by the opportunity to grow as a designer alongside the company. We grew from 14 to 40 people in my six year tenure. In that time I managed all aspects of marketing design and design strategy for eleven brands and product lines.

I balance my creative job with personal creative work, ranging from illustration to performance to game design, which has led me to some pretty interesting opportunities. In college I was a sketch artist for a popular ghost hunting show. At my first job I was tasked with creating a superhero mascot. In my previous position I was a master of ceremonies: awards, contests, team building and even a coworker’s wedding.

My creative approach is best summed up in the mantra of futurist Jason Silva, “Everything we design, designs us back.” I believe every new project is an opportunity to improve as a professional, as a team member and as a person. I enjoy work that contributes to the zeitgeist of design; pushing the new look in its own special direction.
